GEM TESTING REPORT
Gem Testing Report is a document that ascertains the genuineness of the material. Making a Testing Report brings in the confidence and trust factor to the jeweler and the customer on the transacted gem material. Testing Report eliminates subjective discrimination of both jeweler as well as the customer.
NATURAL BLUE SAPPHIRE
NATURAL BLUE SAPPHIRE Testing Report is an important document confirming that the stone is of natural origin and has the said properties mentioned in the report. The column ‘Microscope’ indicates what inclusions have been observed inside the specimen. Note the ‘Remarks Column’ is left blank indicating no treatment has been observed in the stone.
SYNTHETIC BLUE SAPPHIRE
Report SYNTHETIC BLUE SAPPHIRE indicates that the gemstone tested is not a natural gem although it has similar optical and physical properties like those seen in a natural gemstone, this synthetic has been bulk manufactured in a laboratory. The Microscope column indicates that the gemstone contains ‘gas bubbles’ which is a characteristic of synthetic gem especially synthesized by the Flame Fusion Method.
NATURAL RUBY
This NATURAL RUBY is a report that indicates the gemstone tested is of natural origin and that the properties are characteristic for ruby. But when one sees the Microscope Column it reads ‘Colour Flashes’ which means the stone has been treated to this colour and clarity. The Remarks Column confirms that there is ‘Evidence of Treatment by using foreign material (some chemicals) and therefore the gemstone is a treated gem of natural origin.
NATURAL YELLOW SAPPHIRE
NATURAL YELLOW SAPPHIRE Testing Report is an A4 size document and the report is generally made for an High-End stone of natural origin. The Report confirms the properties tested for the gemstone. The column ‘Microscope’ indicates what inclusions have been observed inside that particular specimen. Note the ‘Remarks Column’ is left blank indicating no treatment has been observed in the stone. Jewellers generally opt for such Reports and the LOGO of the Jewellery Firm is also given on the Report.
GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN CERTIFICATE
GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN CERTIFICATE is a very important document indicating the country from where the particular gem may have originated and the report is generally made for certain Gems only. The Report confirms the properties tested for the gemstone. The column ‘Microscope’ indicates what characteristic inclusions have been observed inside that particular specimen and photograph of these inclusions are given in the certificate. Auction Houses, Temples, Estate and Antique Dealers as wellas Jewellers generally opt for such Reports and the LOGO of the Jewellery Firm is also given on the Report. These GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN CERTIFICATE Reports are in Great demand as they increase the Value of the Gem if it originates from certain specific countries.
FAMILY HEIRLOOM – PHOTO IDENTITY REPORT
FAMILY HEIRLOOM – PHOTO IDENTITY REPORT is a document regarding the important gems in Family Heirloom which are of high value. The Report shows the photograph of the jewellery. The column ‘Microscope’ indicates what characteristic inclusions have been observed inside that particular specimen and photographs of these inclusions are given in the certificate. This is extremely important as a document for posterity so that the future generations of the family have an identity card of the high value stone, so that the stones do not get replaced with some cheaper material by fraudulent means. These FAMILY HEIRLOOMS – PHOTO IDENTITY REPORTS are now increasing in demand as they also show the Geographical Origin of Gems used in the jewellery.

JEWELLERY CERTIFICATE is the Report for the authenticity of the gemstones used in a piece of jewellery. Diamonds are graded as a range of colour permitted by the mounting of the diamonds. Each of the different gemstones is tested separately but only one common certificate is issued for all the gems. PEARL IDENTIFICATION CERTIFICATE
PEARL IDENTIFICATION CERTIFICATE is the report of the identification of the pearl as to it being Natural, Cultured, Fresh Water, South Sea pearl. There are different categories in each of these pearls and different grades given as per the size, shape, luster etc. Many artificial pearls are available in the market and the certificate will mention if the pearl is artificial.
ORGANIC GEMS REPORTS
ORGANIC GEMS REPORTS are regularly issued for Rudraksha, Pearls, Coral, Amber and Ivory etc. The rudraksha have different types in them and there are grooves on individual pieces which indicate what category they belong. Starting from one Groove (Ekk-Mukhi) to almost 20 grooves (Vis- mukhi). Some are created by artificial means and these have to be reported as reconstructed.
